Monday Morning Reverie

We have a few athletes who can’t make our Monday afternoon practice due to class or newspaper conflicts, so this week I started meeting them in the morning to get a row in.  Early practices have their downsides– less sleep, the day starts in darkness, colder temperatures.

On the other hand, here’s what we saw today on the water.  Not one other rowing shell or coaching launch.  Only a few fisherman.  Completely flat water until the last two minutes of practice (one wake!).  The first sea lion of the spring season.  And a fantastic sunrise to complement the Portland skyline.

Not a bad way to start a Monday.
